Perth Amboy Real Estate
Perth Amboy investment properties, rental homes and Perth Amboy real estate are located west of New York City, north of Raritan Bay. Perth Amboy’s predominant neighbor, however, is Woodbridge Township at the New Jersey crossroads.
With the feel of a small town, Woodridge Township offers great business and residential opportunities, and substantial waterfront properties for business, industry, and recreationists. It surrounds Perth Amboy NJ real estate on the north and west. Both communities are part of Middlesex County but prices for homes in Perth Amboy are more affordable.
As the oldest township in New Jersey, Woodbridge real estate tells legendary stories of important figures in the settlement of America. Captain John Pike, Thomas Bloomfield, John Bishop, Samuel Moore, Nathaniel Webster and a host of other Woodbridge citizens are committed to the memories of our nation’s school children. Settled in 1664, the Woodbridge area was incorporated 134 years later in 1798.
Today, over 100,000 residents call Woodridge Township home. Most of the population is clustered in cities with 15,000 to 20,000 residents such as Avenel, Colonia, Fords, Iselin, and Woodbridge. These communities offer thriving downtown business and shopping areas. Other small communities include Port Reading, Sewaren, Hopelawn, Keasbey, and Menlo Park Terrace.Woodbridge Township spans 24 square miles. Its southeastern edges are two-thirds waterways.
The Colonial charm anchors corporate office towers and highways and main travel routes. Woodbridge offers quiet, tree-lined neighborhoods, local schools within a short walk and a responsive government focused on the needs of those who choose to live, work, establish businesses and play in our community.
Designated commercial business Redevelopment/Rehabilitation Zones and Live/Work/Play communities add a modern efficiency to the area. Environmental initiatives such as the “Greenable Woodbridge” program incentivize sustainable manufacturing and businesses. The Greater Woodbridge Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Woodbridge Economic Development Corporation (WEDCO) can introduce commercial opportunities that exist throughout the “Ten Towns” of Woodbridge Township. In 2010, the median household income is approximately $80,000.
Main transportation routes include trains through Metropark, Avenel, and Woodbridge. U.S. Routes 1 and 9 and the Edison Bridge on Route 9 cross the Raritan River and connect to Sayreville on the south. Other roadways include Garden State Parkway, the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95), and Routes 27, 35, 184, and 440.
Families are served by the Woodbridge Township School District. The District operates three high schools and feeder schools, some which achieved the highest ratings in the state.
